Finches

Finches are the best choice for those who want a feathered pet but aren't up to the challenge of caring for a parrot. Finches are birds that don't speak or touch, but they impress their owners by thinking about the air and interacting with each other.

Blue streaked Lory is a loose term to describe one of the many (hundreds!) of small passerines. The finches that are most commonly kept as pets belong to the Estrildidae family, such as the zebra finch, Gouldian finch, owl and the social finch. Finches are great for those looking for companion birds but they are not ready to meet the needs of a parrot. They will be content to stay in a large flight room or aviary with other finches. It is unlikely that a finch will be as friendly a companion (although some finches with the back of the hand, especially zebra finches, have been known to fall on the finger) as a bag. Residential area / natural habitat

Estrildid finches, like the yellow collared lovebird, Gouldian finch, owl finch and group finch, are native to Australasia.

Care and nutrition

Finches need a spacious home, especially since they spend most, if not all, of their time in it. These birds must be in full flight rather than having their feathers clipped. Vertical space is important (but not vertical space). Finches are pets and do well when housed with other finches (do not put a finch with a parrot as the parrot may harm the finch). If you live with two pairs of finches together, be prepared for possible offspring, especially if the finches are given a nest (a small wicker basket) and nesting material. Some finches can be kept in a male-female pair (a male finch with a male finch or a female finch with a female finch) to avoid the possibility of inbreeding but this depends on the type of finch and possibly the breeding season.' age. Consult an experienced breeder to see which types of finches are compatible with males or females. Likewise, if you are considering keeping a mixed breed of finches, consult an experienced finch breeder first, as some breeds of finches can be aggressive against other breeds of finches. again, especially during the birth period.

Finch will do well on a basic pelleted diet, such as Lafeber's daily food specially formulated for finches, supplemented with fresh greens and other vegetables, grubs, egg food and fruit. Behavior and behavior

Finches are popular as pets because of their happy sounds and interactions with their flock members and, in the case of the Gouldian finch, their bright colors. They are often birds of a feather; preferring to be with others of their kind.

Words and sounds

Finches can't make the ear-piercing screams of parrots so they can be a good choice for neighbors. Their vocalizations are usually "peep" and "emep" sounds, usually made by males. Their calls/songs can be continuous at times and finches spend most of the day talking to each other. Health and general condition

Finches can become infected with airborne parasites, especially when under stress. This is a serious medical condition that requires immediate veterinary care. Finches can also have a shiny face (the condition caused by the mite appears as white, shiny areas around the beak / eyes, as well as the legs), which also allows the viewer to call for the body. Finches may also have overgrown nails or beaks, which should be treated by an experienced professional. Get the finch
